Aaron called us to plan a candid proposal photography session on the 14th of June at the O’Brien Estate here in Napa Valley. With careful planning from the location’s tasting room manager, David Corkett, it was a huge success. Aaron and Meghan are a beautiful couple who set the tone for future proposal photography sessions coming this year. The groom-to-be cleverly picked the location for the shoot, as his fiancé’s last name is also O’Brien. Under the impression she had won this trip, had chosen the date, and upgraded them to a suite, she was already on cloud nine. Who knew cloud ten existed? Surrounded by lush vineyards underneath a bright blue sky, there could not have been a better place for this couple to begin the rest of their life together.

At the end of May, I had the pleasure of capturing the elopement of Melissa and Ryan, a delightful couple from Atlanta. Out of the many wineries and local Napa Valley settings I have photographed, this was my first job at the Carneros Inn. I was absolutely blown away by the accommodations and breath-taking scenery at this new location. The Carneros Inn, nestled between Napa and Sonoma, is a local hot spot for intimate getaways. Surrounded by vineyards and the rolling hills of the valley, it sets the perfect stage for elopements, weddings, and romantic vacations.

Melissa and Ruben are a wonderful couple from Chicago who flew to Wine Country, just the two of them, to marry in Napa at the gorgeous Cedar Gables Inn in Napa. The Inn is one of the most amazing architectural wonders in Napa County. It was built as a private manse for a young couple in 1892 and it quickly became the center of the Napa social scene. Nearly the entire first floor was created to entertain, and entertain they did –and still do! The Cedar Gables Inn somehow combines turn-of-the-century glamour with an intimate atmosphere. It was the perfect location for an elopement.

I have had yet another gorgeous wedding at Brix this past fall just before Harvest and Crush began. It was an absolutely perfect weekend for a wedding in Napa Valley: the sun was warm, the grapes hung heavy and ripe on the vine, and this couple was nothing short of delicious. Their love was palpable, the adoration they shared was inspirational, and of course, their wedding day was flawless. It has been hard for me to pick out my favorite shots from this wedding –even for the blog, because there are just so many gems, it’s hard to choose! The bride and groom are over the moon with happiness with their wedding photographs, and frankly… so am I! So for this blog, I tried to pick the best of the best—but it wasn’t easy. The mid-autumn sunlight was stunning, the Mayacama Mountains were breathtaking, and the young couple was adorable with their big smiles on their adoring faces and love in their hearts.

Tony and Ana Maria were just married at the lovely Jefferson Street Mansion in Benecia earlier this fall. They are a wonderful, local couple who grew up in the area, and now teach in area schools. They are adorable. The venue was gorgeous. The Jefferson Street Mansion is well known for its Victorian architecture, inspired interiors, and incredible grounds. The bridal suite will take your breath away.

I just photographed the loveliest couple, Michelle and Gene. They had an incredibly romantic elopement in Mendocino at the gorgeous Albion Inn. The ocean front views were to die for, and the couple was so in love. The day was filled with fresh, sea air, romantic vistas and incredible photographic opportunities. Michelle and Gene wanted to spend a good portion of their afternoon taking wedding photographs, which for a wedding photographer is a dream! We spent a full two hours at The Mendocino Headlands State Park, the Cypress Groove as well as the Big River Beach. They really wanted to remember the day and document it beautifully.

Emilie and Cory, a young couple from Scottsdale, Arizona had the most beautiful destination wedding at Brix in Napa. They picked a spectacular venue for their wine country wedding as Brix offers Vineyard property, breathtaking gardens, and incredible views of the Mayacama Moutains. Spectacular! This was a lively wedding with lots of family and friends. The groom comes from a huge family: he has four brothers and one sister, and they were a very animated crew. They were loads of fun to photograph! And… Cory and Emilie had just welcomed their gorgeous, six week-old baby girl, Madison to the world. Emilie looked so amazing having had a baby just 6 weeks previously, and the baby is absolutely adorable.

I recently had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful wedding at St. Peter and Paul Church in San Francisco, otherwise known as “The Italian Cathedral of the West.”  This church is in fact, the Italian-American cultural center of the Bay Area.  It is so old world looking, so old world feeling… you just plain feel like you are in Italy, especially if you attend one … Read more »
