Photography Tips for Brides

Murrieta's Well wedding photography in Livermore - bride getting ready

No. 1. SMILE as much as possible and as often as possible! We know you have a lot going on in the beautiful head of yours, but wedding day smiles are our favorites!

No. 2. HAVE FUN with your soon to be spouse, bridal party, and family. These candid shots often come out as some of the best ones.

No. 3.   Bring a “pretty hanger” for your wedding dress. A cheap, plastic hanger will distract from the beauty of the dress in your dress photos.

No. 4.    Have your floral bouquets delivered to your ‘getting ready’ location.  Having your bouquets with you when you arrive at the ceremony site will add to the photos and relieve any anxiety of not knowing where they are.

No. 5.     Matching Robes.  Consider getting matching robes for all of your bridesmaids to wear while getting hair and make-up done.

No. 6. Pack an Emergency Kit.  Including needles and thread, safety pins, tape, mints, stain remover, scissors, Advil, and anything else you might need last minute.

No. 7.   Keep the Room Clean.  Remember that less is more and aim for a light-filled, spacious room with little clutter.

No. 8.   Gather your Details.   Before your photographer arrives, gather all of the details and memorabilia that you would like to have photographed, including jewelry, special gifts, shoes, and anything else that is important to you.  Make sure that your photographer knows that you want these items photographed.

No. 9.   Snacks.  Make sure to have water and snacks available for the Bride and Bridesmaids.  It’s going to be a long day filled with love, laughter and fun… don’t forget to eat!

No. 10.  Reflection.    Consider taking some time by yourself to reflect on the day.  Even if it’s only a few minutes, this can give you a chance to relax and gather your thoughts and emotions on such a momentous day.
